Dino Melaye Reveals Why He Left APC, Cites “Unsafe Political Environment”

Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has spoken about his exit from the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the circumstances within the party at the time compelled him to move on.

Ohafia Reporters reports that Melaye made the remarks during an interview on Mic On Podcast hosted by Seun Akinbaloye, where he reflected on his experience in the ruling party and the reasons behind his departure.

According to him, the political atmosphere around him became increasingly difficult and no longer aligned with his personal beliefs and convictions. He explained that the situation ultimately pushed him to reconsider his position and chart a different path.

Describing his decision as a turning point in his political journey, Melaye said leaving the APC was not impulsive but followed deep reflection on his future and safety.

He said: “I was operating in a satanic milieu. I was operating in a dangerous environment and I had to leave, I had to change just like Saul on his way to Damascus became Paul.”

The former lawmaker, known for his outspoken criticism of government policies and political institutions, added that he had to reposition himself in order to pursue a direction that better aligns with his goals and values.
