Abia Homeland Security Suspends Personnel Over Alleged Vandalism of Government Property
The management of the Abia State Homeland Security Services has suspended one of its personnel, DDL Tochi Oluobube, over her alleged involvement in the vandalism of government property in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area of the state.
The agency said the suspension followed public concern regarding the incident, noting that the decision was taken in line with its commitment to discipline and accountability within its ranks.
In an official statement issued on Friday and signed by the Public Relations Officer, Ezinwanne Alili, the agency stated that it maintains zero tolerance for acts of indiscipline by any of its personnel.
“The agency has zero tolerance for acts of indiscipline perpetrated by any personnel. This act of vandalism allegedly involving the named personnel will therefore not be an exception,” the statement read.
It further confirmed that the officer has been suspended pending the outcome of a full investigation to be conducted in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force.
“The officer in question is currently suspended pending a full investigation with the Nigerian Police Force,” the statement added.
The agency also assured that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken in line with its extant Code of Conduct after the conclusion of police investigations.
“She will be dealt with in line with the extant Code of Conduct for personnel of the agency once the police concludes their investigation,” Alili stated.
Reiterating its commitment to professionalism, the agency pledged that the investigation would be thorough, transparent, and impartial, in conjunction with relevant authorities to ensure swift resolution and justice.
It stressed that any action contrary to its mandate of protecting lives and property in Abia State, under the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, would not be tolerated.
