Soldiers intercept suspected bandit with AK-47 magazine in Kaduna

Troops of the Nigerian Army have intercepted a suspected bandit and recovered an AK-47 magazine during an operation in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The operation was carried out by troops of the 2 Battalion under the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Army disclosed that the suspect was apprehended during a snap roadblock operation at Damari on May 8.
The suspect, identified as Ibrahim Adamu, 32, was reportedly riding a motorcycle when he was intercepted by the troops.
According to the statement, security operatives recovered an AK-47 magazine, three mobile phones, Indian hemp and other items from the suspect.
The Army further stated that preliminary checks conducted on the suspect’s mobile phones revealed photographs allegedly showing him dressed in military camouflage and carrying a PKT machine gun alongside other suspected bandits.
“The suspect and recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation,” the statement added.
