Indian Police Bust Drug Trafficking Network in West Delhi, Arrest Four Suspects Including Two Nigerians
Police in India have dismantled a drug trafficking network operating in West Delhi, arresting four suspects, among them two Nigerian nationals.
The suspects have been identified as Gurmeet Singh, Mukesh Kumar also known as Vicky, and Nigerian nationals Mancabo David and Emeka Emmanuel, also known as Peter.
A senior police officer said the operation was launched following credible intelligence on drug trafficking activities around the Tilak Nagar area.
Acting on the information, police carried out a raid on April 6 at a residential premises in Ganesh Nagar, where Gurmeet Singh and Mukesh Kumar were arrested on the spot.
During the raid, officers recovered about 73 grams of MDMA, along with 112 zip-lock pouches, weighing scales, packaging materials, and approximately ₹700,000 (about N700,000) suspected to be proceeds of illegal drug sales.
Further investigations led to the arrest of Mancabo David on April 9. Police said more than 10 grams of MDMA were recovered from him during the arrest. Emeka Emmanuel was also apprehended the same day, with about 7 grams of the substance allegedly found in his possession.
According to police, Emmanuel is a repeat offender who had previously been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and had served a five-year prison sentence.
Investigators alleged that the syndicate sourced drugs from suppliers and distributed them across the Delhi-NCR region. Gurmeet Singh was described as the alleged kingpin responsible for procurement and supply, while Mukesh Kumar handled local distribution.
Police further revealed that the group operated from a rented apartment used to conceal its activities. The premises was also allegedly used to run an escort service.
To evade law enforcement, the suspects reportedly installed CCTV cameras and password-protected access systems around the location, officials said.
Investigations into the full extent of the network are ongoing.
